Pampered Chef's Best Tasting Fish in Foil Packet Recipe

When I first started my nutrition journey, I spent so many nights looking up ways that I can increase my protein. I had logged my meals and snacks for a week and each day my protein had came out short.

In addition to adding a protein supplement into my nutrition, I also researched ways to get in the protein that my body needs in order to build and repair muscle after those hard workouts at the gym.

After some trial and error, I had realized that my body does really well with light meals. I don't get too full or feel so heavy that I feel dragged down by the food that I had eaten.

As I was conducting my research, on source of protein really stood out and that was Fish.

Yes. Fish. Some people, like my husband, do not like the smell of fish. So, in order to have my quality protein I decided to look for a recipe that limited the smell.

That's when I found the Fish in Foil Packets from Pampered Chef.

"The best Fish Recipe I've had in years. Thank you for Sharing!" – Patty Blake

This is a delicious and simple marinade for tilapia or any type of white fish. The flavors are fantastic, satisfying and a super quick meal if you are crunched on time.

Trust me, foil packs are the way to go because it will save you time after dinner cleaning up. Instead of washing all those dirty plates, you just have to throw away the foil! Viola! Mess is cleaned!

Dinner will be ready in no time with these fish foil packets! It’s light and if you want to make it any for filling, I highly recommended adding brown rice, wild rice, couscous or quinoa.

Fish in Foil Packets Recipe from Pampered Chef

  • 2 pieces of Tilapia fillets (or your favorite fish fillets*)

  • 1 tablespoon olive oil or butter

  • 2 teaspoons garlic salt*

  • 1 teaspoon ground black pepper

  • 2 sheets heavy-duty aluminum foil

* Instead of Garlic Salt, I like to use Pampered Chef's Seasoning Salt. It’s made of an intensely flavored blend of salt, toasted onion, and savory garlic with a dash of paprika. Yum!

*I like to use Pampered Chef's Basil Infused Olive Oil. I highly recommend this oil because it adds a peppery and slightly sweet flavor of basil to anything you make. Basil Infused Olive Oil is truly a high-quality olive oil that is infused with pure basil flavor. You can use it to build flavors in protein or veggies or really anything that you can use normal cooking oil in.

* You can substitute Tilapia with any other fish fillets of your choice such as:

  • Cod

  • Halibut

  • Tilapia

  • catfish

  • flounder

1. Rinse and pat fillets dry. Rub fillets with olive oil or butter, and season with garlic salt and black pepper. (Or your favorite Seasoning)

2. Place each fillet on a large sheet of aluminum foil.

3. Add some veggies (corn on the cob, zucchini and asparagus go well with fish) if you’d like before sealing the packets Leave a small opening on top to release steam.

4. Bake or grill at 400°F (220°C) for 15 minutes depending on the size of the fillet. Make sure to check the temperature of the fillet before you consume it to make sure it cooked thoroughly.

This is such an easy foil pack recipe and packed with protein, omega-3's and low carb! Not to mention is a reader favorite. It’s super quick, easy and a healthy option for dinner or lunch. Plus, there is no mess after the meal to clean up.

The only kitchen tools you will need are:

1. aluminum foil (or parchment paper)

2. a sheet pan.

For best success, I recommend the use of a heavy-gauge steel sheet pan that won’t warp in the oven and heats evenly across the pan. I use Pampered Chef's heavy-duty Large Sheet Pan. I absolutely LOVE this pan because it combines the strength and durability of steel with the superior heat conduction of aluminum—just like the pans professional bakers choose.

Pampered Chef's Large Sheet Pan has an improved coating that prevents food from sticking and keeps your pan looking great. I don't know about you, but I have had some pans throughout the years that have gotten rusty just within a few times being in the oven. Talk about a waste of money...and really not healthy.

The Pampered Chef Sheet Pan also features rolled edges and wire rims prevent warping, and the high sides keep food from overflowing. Again, this is unlike any other sheet pan that I have had. In fact, I had one pan that actually DID overflow in the oven cause all of the food to drip down. And you know what happened next? The fire alarm went off in my apartment! Seriously! After that incident, I had decided I would only buy high quality baking dishes and pans from now on.
